Public Speaking

Hi there! My name is Amanda Tretter!

I'm a video producer who works to inspire others and shine a light on community supports though storytelling. After navigating barriers to my education and mental health challenges, with the help and support of organizations in the community I have learned to find stability and comfort in life. Recognizing that growth is a never ending process, and mental health challenges is something we all face at various stages in our lives, I want to use my experiences and my challenges to inspire others and spread messages of hope and remind people that they are not broken, they are not alone, and their story and experiences matter.

My Message

The message that I share, particularly in my role as a public speaker at events such as Youth Opportunities Unlimited's 18th Annual Breakfast For YOU event, as well as Fanshawe Colleges Black History Month 2025 event 'Still I Rise', often revolves around empowerment, resilience, and overcoming mental health challenges. Through my work with Blue Scarf Productions and my personal experiences, I work to encourage others to take risks, embrace their unique voices, and spread hope for positive change in their communities.

If you are in need of a public speaker for an event, to highlight the key messages stated above, please feel free to reach out to me. My speeches highlight my story, and my lived experiences. It is my mission to inspire my audience and shine a light on the community supports that are available and let people know that they aren't alone, particularly regarding mental health struggles.

Public Speaking Testimonials

"CMHATV had the honour of having Amanda Tretter speak for Mental Health Week at our Sharing Our Stories program on Monday May 5/25.  Amanda shared her story of lived experience with mental health.  She spoke openly of her struggles and her continual journey to overcome obstacles.  Amanda has became increasingly better at delivering her story, and has now had the opportunity to share it through different venues.  She is a strong advocate for mental health, and is always willing to assist another person who is struggling whenever she can.  As Amanda’s confidence increased, Amanda was able to get her business “Blue Scarf Productions” started.  She is an incredible film maker with a wide variety of skills using various formats such as photography, music and spoken word etc. Amanda also gained employment elsewhere, which added to her purpose, and gave her more financial freedom. Watching Amanda grow over the past few years has been a pleasure, and I know that she will continue to thrive in whatever situation comes her way."
